New Job = Lack of Posting...
Good: I got a brand new spankin’ job that rocks so far!
Bad: No blogging at work anymore.
Which means…The blogging will be light from now on. I’m going to try and make a conscious effort to post at least a few things every evening. This blog is so important to me and really keeps me on track. Plus, I feel so close to all of you and really appreciate our little network.

Phys Ed: Why Exercise Makes You Less Anxious -... →
losingweightinthecity:
aand…I need to exercise even more, it seems. Interesting article, though.
This is inspiring:
“In the University of Colorado experiments, for instance, rats that ran for only three weeks did not show much reduction in stress-induced anxiety, but those that ran for at least six weeks did. “Something happened between three and six weeks,” says Benjamin Greenwood, a...

You can do it girl! Just keep your eye on the prize and remember that “Nothing tastes as good as being thin.”

Going to Chipotle for lunch.
My last day at my current job is Thursday. Today is one of the days I had planned to go out with a work friend before I leave. We settled on Chipotle. I have to admit, it was ultimately my choice…but a salad just doesn’t sound good since I got food poisoning from spinach last week.
Anyway, wish me luck!
Where do you buy apple butter?
Last night we said we'd hold each other...
Those of you who said you would be working out last night inspired me. I wasn’t feeling too hot, but got home, wrote down some new strength training moves I’ve been wanting to try, and hit the gym! I spent 25 minutes on the treadmill, walking at a fast pace and at a high incline. Then I spend 35 minutes (or more) doing my strength training routine, which includes 10 moves that work...
KALE CHIP Update!
littleoneblog:
size4withfries:
Here is the recipe I’m following. I’ll be sure to let you all know how it goes!!
Preheat oven to about 375*
Use about 1 OXO salad spinner’s worth of kale (which was a stuffed grocery store veggie bag). Tear the leaves off the thick stems into bite size pieces. Spread out on cookie sheets.
Drizzle with about 2 tsp of olive oil
Sprinkle with Parmesan,...

Tonight I'm trying KALE CHIPS!
Here is the recipe I’m following. I’ll be sure to let you all know how it goes!!

Use about 1 OXO salad spinner’s worth of kale (which was a stuffed grocery store veggie bag). Tear the leaves off the thick stems into bite size pieces. Spread out on cookie sheets.

I haven't worn these khakis in a long time.
They have been feeling very snug, but not today! I’m trying my hardest to trim up my hips. My man *so sweetly* said one day, “Do you think maybe your body is just preparing for childbirth?”
Yes, the man actually said this. I’m telling you, he has every excuse for me to eat junk food with him and gain weight. He wants me to be healthy, but he thinks I’m perfect...
Calories.
My husband (ugh sounds like I’m 45. i’m only 25.) — anyway, ahem, my husband just filled out some form for his health insurance and found this out:
For a man his size (6’2”, 187 lbs.), he is supposed to take in 3,070 - 3,145 calories a day. To maintain his weight.
Sounds ridiculous to me. Especially since I’m only supposed to take in 1200-1500 calories to...
Weekly Goals
one-twenty-five:
This week’s goals?
Sign on with a personal trainer,
Go to the gym 4 times,
Don’t spend money (except on said personal trainer),
Go to sleep early,
Drink lots of water.
125 - beautiful goals! I signed up for the Nutritionista’s Winter Shape-Up Challenge, and each week we have mini goals. This week, mine are as follows:
NO fried food
Go to the gym at least 4...
Cookies...
…not the best way to start a Monday off.
My cube next-door-neighbor brought in two kinds of homemade cookies: double chocolate/peanut butter and white chocolate/cranberry. I had one of each. Before 9 a.m.
Who's the winner - Diet or Exercise?
I often wonder which has a greater impact on my weight - diet or exercise. I understand that BOTH are extremely important for overall health, but if you’re trying to lose weight…does focusing on diet or exercise make it happen faster?
This past weekend, I got plenty of exercise. And while I thought I had made some healthy food choices, I know I really didn’t.

And then there was today.
Yesterday I made great choices, today I failed.
Since I was kind of a party pooper yesterday, and because I start a new job next week and won’t have the chance to go to lunch with Work BFF anymore, we decided to go out today. The choices were narrowed down to sushi or Applebee’s. She chose Applebee’s. (but I could have easily insisted on sushi)
I knew exactly what I wanted:...
oh temptation
nothing-tastes-better:
went into the cupboard looking for PAM and found a whole shelf of junk food at the boy’s place. including three unopened bags of chips and a number of gummy variations.
(aside: it’s funny how he can have that stuff around and enjoy in moderation and i could never have a shelf like that in my place. even if i was able to resist for a few days or weeks, there would come a...
It's 8:58 a.m.
I’m already starving.
And yes, I ate breakfast. As I’m writing this though, I’m thinking it didn’t have enough fiber, which would explain my hunger pangs!
Breakfast:
Organic Cascadian Farms Cinnamon Crunch (I was in the mood for kid’s cereal!) - 3/4 cup - 150 cals, 2.5 g fat, 3 g fiber, 8 g sugar
Skim milk - 1/4 cup
Blueberry muffin - 1 small -...

Homemade Blueberry Muffins
Breakfast of Champions Happy Girls
I made homemade muffins last night, and ate two for breafast.
1st thought: Yikes, great way to kick off the new blog, by sharing the fact that I scarfed two muffins with butter as the most important meal of the day.
2nd thought: YES, great way to kick off the new blog! By sharing the fact that I ate a comforting muffin meal and it’s been 4 hours since...
It’s diet and exercise. We’re not re-inventing the wheel here.

Can this girl have it all?
I am a newlywed in my mid-twenties, with a husband who encourages me to eat pizza, burgers, and candy on a regular basis. But I want to be healthy. It’s not all his fault for my extra baggage (around the midsection mostly)…See, I have a lot of internal conflict:
I love the mountains…………………….AND the beach
I could lounge all day...
